CJ Hueston is proof that a company reflects its owner. When she
blows into a room, everyone knows it. She hits the ground running
before anyone else has landed. Like CJ, the atmosphere at CDI is
energetic, organized, efficient, and professional.
"Yes," she admits, talking at the speed of light, "I'm
type-A."
The Fast Track
It’s been that way since she started out as
an educator. She quickly moved from the classroom to administration,
and then district office administrator, when the lure of working
in private industry arose.
Barron Collier Companies, a family-owned organization with interests
in real estate and development, agriculture, and oil and gas exploration,
quickly snatched CJ up. She became president of its fleet management
company, International Automated Energy Systems (IAES).
She piloted the company through a period of major growth, working
with international companies including Exxon, Shell Oil, Amoco, and
Citgo. Along the way, she brokered a partnership with Visa to provide
a national fleet card for fuel purchases across the country.
The Vision
At IAES, CJ’s focus was on hiring – itself a monumental
task. She knew how important it was to choose the right people, capitalize
on their strengths, and put them together in teams that complemented
each other. She often wished for outside help – someone who
was always on the lookout for qualified people for her company and
would bring them to her attention. After 12 years in the corporate
world, CJ did just that – forming Corporate Dimensions, Inc.,
to provide companies with the recruiting and placement services she
envisioned.
The Reality
Her company continues its path of rapid growth through CJ’s
vision-become-reality – two divisions, Executive Recruitment
and Professional Placement – synergistically entwined by CJ
and a talented staff driven to excellence. Says CJ, “It’s
my philosophy that by embracing both sides of the equation, we are
the most valuable source for those who seek professionals, and for
professionals who seek a new challenge and opportunity.”
People create excellence in a company – not
the job description, not the policy manual, not even the product – CJ
Hueston, president and owner of CDI.
